source: Google DeepMind: Introducing Gemini 3.7 Flash
level: technical
Google DeepMind released Gemini 3.7 Flash, its most capable workhorse model for coding and agents. The launch comes three weeks after Gemini 3.6 Flash and reflects developer feedback and algorithmic improvements. The model shows substantial gains in software engineering, knowledge work, and web development. It is available at half the introductory price of 3.6 Flash, making it more accessible for production use.
Benchmarks show clear improvements. On FrontierCode 1.1 Main, 3.7 Flash scores 43.6% versus 34.4% for 3.6 Flash. On DeepSWE v1.1, it reaches 65.3% versus 49.0%. For web development, its Elo score on Arena.ai's WebDev Arena is 1588 versus 1538. In document processing, it scores 34.0% on GDP.pdf versus 22.0%, and on AutomationBench it achieves 30.4% versus 17.0%. Introductory pricing is $0.75 per million input tokens and $3.75 per million output tokens until December 31, 2026.
Gemini 3.7 Flash is available via the Gemini API, Google AI Studio, Android Studio, and Google Antigravity. Gemini Spark, the personal AI agent for Google AI Pro and Ultra subscribers, now uses 3.7 Flash. The model includes updated safeguards against CBRN and cyber offense misuse. This release continues Google DeepMind's rapid iteration on the Flash series, targeting developers who need reliable, cost-efficient models for complex agentic workflows.
why it matters: Lower cost and higher accuracy make advanced AI coding and agent automation more accessible for developers and enterprises.
